Yoga with Pip helps me tune into the strength and beauty of the human body and mind, allowing me to find a peaceful space and letting my thoughts settle while I focus on my breathing and become more present. It’s a quiet, restorative and empowering experience. This is about more than the exercises themselves, as Pip introduces beautiful texts into her practice and as she reads them out I find it comforting and life affirming.
Pip creates an inclusive and relaxed atmosphere for anyone to join and I love her focus on yoga for EVERYONE!

why yoga?

I started to practice yoga at home when overwhelm and other health difficulties made it difficult for me to do the high impact exercise I previousy relied on to de-stress. I was looking for guided times for me to find inner peace as well as a new tribe of people I could identify with. I was attracted to Hatha yoga as the slow flowing movements and prompts to check in on myself appealed to me. For years I had thought that I wouldn't be flexible enough, that I would not feel welcome as I don't do life in a stereotypical 'yoga body'.  However, each time I got on the mat, I'd find peace and I'd find myself again.

I am passionate about making yoga unthreatening so that a wider population can enjoy the holistic benefits. My classes are fun as well as a space to slow down and tend to yourself. You do not need to be flexible and all body types are welcome.  Simple instruction will be given to support each individual find their version of a pose - you will be encouraged to listen to your own body and not compare yourself to others. With loving and gentle movement you will find more mobility, strength and balance.

In addition to asanas (physical positions) my classes include pranayama (breathing techniques) that will help to connect your body and mind. You will be supported to link your breath to movement and encouraged to observe how your body is responding to each pose. Wobbling and falling over is all part of the journey and I invite anyone to come along who also harbours a secret fear of falling over!

For those who would like, I offer elements of Indian Head Massage during savasana at the end of each class. Stillness isn't easy for many people and busy lives can mean that every moment of the day is filled with noise and chatter (internal and external). Physical touch can be grounding and help to anchor the mind and body in the present and can deepen the experience of Being while the central nervous system calms. In each class I will hold a safe space for you, to experience moments of surrender where you can let go of everything you are carrying - physically, mentally and emotionally - and in those quiet moments that follow movement practise, you may just learn to listen to the teaching of your own soul, to hear that inner voice and find transformative rest.

'I have been a seeker and I still am, but I stopped asking the books and the stars. I started listening to the teaching of my soul'. Rumi
